Busy bees (and ladybirds)…Sunday, 27 July 2014
Time for a catch up. I’ve been really busy and lots to report!
I had a fantastic time visiting London and the revamped What the Ladybird Heard show. I travelled in style to lots of the city’s famous landmarks… in a very special (and bright yellow!) What the Ladybird Heard taxi!
We visited Buckingham Palace (but no time to pop in for tea with the queen), the Natural History Museum, the British Library and finished off our tour at Richmond Theatre where I was lucky enough to see the show. I really enjoyed the new song, and it was great to do the drawing workshop afterwards with some local schools. Exciting news- you will soon be able to buy a CD with all the Ladybird songs so you can sing along at home too!
Princess Mirror-Belle has joined the ladybird on her travels as part of the “Squash and a Squeeze” Seven Stories exhibition as it heads to Bradford. The exhibition tells the story of Julia Donaldson and her journey from children’s songwriter to former Children’s Laureate. I caught up with the exhibition in Bradford and it was fantastic to see all of Julia’s brilliant work and the talented illustrators she has worked with. The exhibition will be in Bradford at the Cartwright Hall until the 9th November. Its well worth a look- a fantastic day out!
Let me know if you spot the Ladybird taxi, and if you take a trip to the exhibition!
